It's been a long time since REIGNING MONARCH last scored but when he did he was six pounds heavier in the handicap and with a hint of a return to some sort of form recently we'll take him to land this weak six furlong handicap in preference to last time out success story Tanley while Nativity also makes some appeal. Not successful since January 2008 the pick has none the less put in some decent efforts recently including last time out where he beat home a subsequent winner. Granted this is a risky selection given his losing streak but this race won't take much winning and he's weighted to go close. Tanley got up to score over this trip at Lingfield last time when taking advantage of a handy mark. Some of his old form suggests he should be affective off this revised weight so we wouldn't be surprised to see him in the mix again. Nativity keeps hitting the bar off this rating and may need a reprieve before getting in front so with the others outside this Trio with plenty to prove we'll just give the nod to the potentially well treated Reigning Monarch.
