        In depth

        Verdict

        Several are expected to improve now handicapping for the first time. That list includes Alkaamel, despite failing to threaten so far, and Spirit Warning went close in a maiden at Epsom in July. EMMA POINT has the more recent form with a second at Chelmsford last month and it’s Marco Botti’s filly that gets the nod to open her account today. Mitigator ran well over track and trip before struggling at Lingfield while Numero Uno was expected to finish closer here on his recent handicap debut.
