Verdict

The Gosdens’ yard has won four of the last five renewals and Fortino, a multiple Grade 1 winner in Chile, is an intriguing newcomer to the yard. Stablemate Israr is still improving and landed a Group 2 over today’s trip at Newmarket but is penalised for that success and has a bit to find with BAY BRIDGE on these terms. Last year’s Champion Stakes winner wasn’t at his best at Ascot last time but is expected to stay this extra distance and won on the all-weather as a novice. Candleford picked up a Listed contest at Windsor recently but Max Vega prefers testing ground. However, both Belloccio and Shandoz are Listed winners over track and trip.
