In depth

Verdict

TETLAMI beat subsequent easy Southwell winner Vulcanite over hurdles here on Boxing Day and features prominently in ante-post lists for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at The Festival. He seems oblivious to ground conditions so there's no reason why he won't extend his winning run in this, though Gores Island has also been in fine form over timber with wins at Towcester and Doncaster and should put up a fight. Monturgeon is worth a second look having gone close on several occasions in bumpers and over timber, but this trip may be too sharp for David Arbuthnot's useful mare The Strawberry One and last month's Cheltenham fourth Hard To Swallow.
