        Verdict

        Gallantry has yet to win at anything approaching today's distance, but Carlton Scroop is back on a winning mark if on a going day. Laconicos has claims on his latest second at this track, though one win in 78 starts is slightly off-putting, while Shirataki's winning run came to an end when a well beaten second last time and he's gone up another 2lb. Ivan The terrible is not certain to stay the trip, but breeding suggests another lightly-raced sort in SAWAHILL should last home and Clive Brittain's filly gets the vote to find some improvement.
