      In depth

Vodka Time made a promising start when runner-up in the Brocklesby at Doncaster though he still finished five lengths behind the winner, Mick's Yer Man. The latter followed up when beating SKYE'S THE LIMIT a couple of lengths at Musselburgh a fortnight ago and Richard Fahey's colt may just have the edge today on that evidence. Dovil's Duel was well beaten in the Brocklesby and is harder to fancy. The betting may give the best clue to the chances of the newcomers with Fig Roll and Meritocracy, the half-brother to a Listed winner, standing out on breeding.

Dovil's Duel (IRE) 4-1fav (9-3) Chased leaders, ridden 2f out, kept on one pace, 5th of 12, 13l behind Mick's Yer Man (8-10) at Doncaster 5f 2yo stks (4) sft in Mar.

Meritocracy (IRE) Kheleyf colt out of Chiosina.

Montaigne Exceed And Excel colt out of Autumn Pearl.

Skye's The Limit 4-1 (9-3) Slowly into stride, soon chasing leaders, switched right 2f out, went 2nd over 1f out, stayed on, no impression on winner final 100 yards, 2nd of 6, 2 1/2l behind Mick's Yer Man (9-0) at Musselburgh 5f 2yo stks (3) gs in Mar.

Vodka Time (IRE) 11-2 (9-3) Keen close up on outer, ridden 2f out, chased winner just inside final furlong, kept on one pace, 2nd of 12, 5l behind Mick's Yer Man (8-10) at Doncaster 5f 2yo stks (4) sft in Mar.

Fig Roll Bahamian Bounty filly out of Cake.

Rough Courte (IRE) Clodovil filly out of Straight Sets.
