      Verdict

Vodka Time made a promising start when runner-up in the Brocklesby at Doncaster though he still finished five lengths behind the winner, Mick's Yer Man. The latter followed up when beating SKYE'S THE LIMIT a couple of lengths at Musselburgh a fortnight ago and Richard Fahey's colt may just have the edge today on that evidence. Dovil's Duel was well beaten in the Brocklesby and is harder to fancy. The betting may give the best clue to the chances of the newcomers with Fig Roll and Meritocracy, the half-brother to a Listed winner, standing out on breeding.
