Verdict

EL RIO returns to action penalised for making all at Aintree in April but looks sure to improve further this season. Monks Meadow has a recent second here under his belt though couldn’t live with the winner in the closing stages while Much Too Dear was brought down on his reappearance. Bumper winner East India Express debuts over timber and is a brother to stablemate Surrey Quest, a winner over both hurdles and fences, while Ghost Hunter, Thunder N Lightnin and Defi Nonantais all have form between the flags.
