        Verdict

        This looks a hot looking maiden contest with Safirah and Tashreefat all having run pleasing debut runs, and the Stoute trained newcomer Oration also deserves respect but the vote goes to Plummet. The John Gosden trained Plummet ran very green on her debut at Windsor and some would say Richard Hughes was not at his usual best either. He sent the filly very wide off the home turn where she had no one to race with then she hung badly, and ran better than her finishing position suggested. Given that excuse if she was to progress and be given a more positive ride she could take all the beating. Safirah ran well enough on her debut at Ling field and should improve, while the same can be said for Tashreefat whose Newmarket debut run was a game one. Of the newcomers Oration will be on everyones short list being the mount of Fallon. But the fact that this son of Singspiel has already been gelded suggests that he has been a little wayward in his preparation and is best watched today. So for the winner we return to Plummet.
