Verdict

MR PLOD can come out on top in this handicap and he gets the vote over Dontpaytheferryman, Uig and Tivers Song. This race will not take much winning and the selection posted a fair effort here last time out when he finished fourth behind Giant Sequoia. He also ran well here back in August in a maiden that has worked out particularly well, and he looks capable of running a big race. Uig put in a fair effort last time out at Chepstow but that race has not worked out at all well and a place looks to be her best hope tonight. Dontpaytheferryman is yet to win on the level and he makes his debut for Brian Ellison having left Richard Fahey. He won over hurdles when he got a soft lead, but he may not get his own way out in front here. Tivers Song ran a respectable race at Warwick last month when he finished third of 14 behind Sceilin. A reproduction of that effort would give him a big chance but his form on the all-weather so far has been very disappointing and on that basis he is taken on. A poor start to the card and the vote goes to Mr Plod.
