In depth

Verdict

The progressive TAMERLANE (NAP) steps up in distance bidding for a hat-trick. Clive Cox’ charge ended last year with a double over 7f here and the style of those wins suggested this longer trip will be well within his compass. Executive Force can race off the same mark as when going close at Chelmsford in November but several drop back down in distance. Divine Messenger passed the post first over 1m2f at Lingfield but was disqualified having veered into a rival in the closing stages while Choral Clan was narrowly beaten at Chelmsford having won a claimer over today’s trip before that. Be Thankful also returns to a mile for her handicap debut and could go well judged on an earlier debut third at Newcastle.
