Verdict

First Street completed a double in novice company on good ground in the summer but couldn't make the transition to Grade 2 company at Chepstow. He should find this more to his liking on his handicap debut though EARTH COMPANY looks the one to beat. Philip Hobbs' charge followed an easy Taunton success by beating Brief Times, who was on a four-timer, at Wincanton and, though 6lb higher, is progressive enough to go in again. Plumpton winner Royaume Uni ran well when placed in this class at Cheltenham while Lucky One is better than he's been showing and should strip fitter for last month's run at Doncaster, his first for Dan Skelton.
