In depth

Verdict

A wide-open contest further complicated by Charlie Appleby running three. An apprentice’s allowance negates the penalty incurred by Deciduous for winning at Wolverhampton while William Buick partners the gelded True Accolade ahead of fellow newcomer Inner Light. Lost Of Love made a winning debut at Lingfield while an apprentice also takes over the reins on Sea Grey, who scored over 1m4f here last year. Surrey Mist beat a subsequent winner when scoring at Lingfield and Cliffs Of Fury placed at Chelmsford last time. SALVATOR MUNDI found the 7f trip too short at Yarmouth on last year’s debut but much better is expected from the 200,000gns purchase now tackling middle-distances so the Gosdens’ colt gets a speculative vote.
