        Verdict

        The once-smart handicapper STAR LINKS ended a long losing run in this lowly grade a week ago. An apprentice's allowance negates a penalty and Sylvester Kirk's veteran is fancied to confirm running with Solveig's Song and Time Square and score again. The latter finished ahead of Ferryview Place when third in a Class 7 event at Chelmsford earlier but it's difficult to make a serious case for any of the remainder in such a poor contest.
