Verdict

HAPPY ESCAPE needed only to be pushed out in the closing stages to land a course and distance double. She’s been raised a further 6lb but looks capable of defying the handicapper once again. Dangerous Ends won over a longer trip at Chelmsford in November but found one too good when favourite last time while Phosphorescence went close here last summer but hasn’t raced since August. Kingston Kurrajong and Arsenio Lupin are others returning from a lay-off but Bluff Crag has the more recent form and is preferred.
