        Verdict

        Valko returned a losing favourite at Catterick last time when dropped back to today's trip. The likes of Joules, Suqoor and Parkour look likely improvers but the vote goes to the latter's stablemate and newcomer CEE JAY. He's related to a couple of winners and an entry in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes suggests he has shown plenty of ability at home. Shadad is another with fancy entries including the Dewhurst but his winning relatives all scored over 7f or further while the speedily-bred Above N Beyond is out of a prolific mare and Verne Castle is out of Nunthorpe winner Lochangel.
