Verdict

HURRICANE COAST sprung back to life when landing a gamble for connections over course and distance last time and the nine year old can follow up here. Recent winners River Kirov and Namu looks the biggest threats. Hurricane Coast's victory last time was his first for almost three years but it did not come out of turn as he was noted doing his best work late on prior to that at this venue also. 6lb higher for that win, there will be no hanging about here and that will suit the selection. It is not too often that winners from the Michael Wigham stable go unbacked and River Kirov's victory last time was no exception. Given the fact he had to do quite a bit in the early stages from his low draw adds further belief to the fact that he could be more value that the official form indicates. His high draw today will make life easier particularly if prominent tactics are going to be applied once again here. First time cheekpieces looked to bring about improvement in Namu last time and if they have the same effect she would have claims. Milne Bay was turned out quickly to follow up a success on his penultimate start last time and although he travelled well into the closing stages, when push came to shove he had nothing to offer. Top-weight Back In The Red appears most effective over the minimum trip and Hurrricane Coast is the hopeful selection in a wide open handicap.
