Verdict
PEARL ARCH defied a poor draw to win here in October and this progressive sort looks open to the possibility of victory off a 6lb higher mark this evening. Mark Johnston has two runners and both have claims on the formbook. Satin Love, who ran in the Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, has been on the go for some time and is tried in headgear for the first time. Top Care, who has been in rather more modest company, is fresh from victory at Southwell. Burj Alzain and Whiplash Willie were both ready winners last time out and have set the assessor a conundrum. Focail Maith finished ahead of Satin Love in a novice stakes when they last met and it appears that the handicapper has taken a literal interpretation of it with a massive hike in the weights. Pontefract winner, One Lucky Lady, seems best of the rest.
