    In depth

    Verdict

SAMARRIVE is a recruit from France debuting for Paul Nicholls’ yard. A winner over hurdles at Angers on his racecourse debut, he’ll know his job and is preferred to Seinesational. A decent handicapper on the Flat, the latter was last of four runners at Ascot but wasn't beaten far while Chives finished third at Ludlow but a long way behind the winner - the latter pair both drop down in trip. Delta River’s saddle slipped at Taunton on his hurdling debut while Theoule is a rare runner under this code for Martyn Meade’s yard.
