Verdict

CHECKLOW was only narrowly beaten last time and he can gain his compensation at the main expense of Samarinda and Tartan Gigha. Jeremy Noseda's four-year-old had Samarinda back in fourth when he chased home Mahadee here last month. The form has since been franked by the third Extraterrestrial who won well at Newbury on Saturday. On these terms Checklow can confirm placings with Samarinda and he looks to have solid claims. Tartan Gigha was a little disappointing last time, but this step-up in trip will not be a problem and on the pick of his form he would have a great chance. Aflaam has been done no favours by the draw, while Multakka has won over the course and distance and is another with claims. However, Checklow ticks plenty of boxes today and he should prove tough to beat.
