In depth

Verdict

In this seven-furlong juvenile event, Party is taken to score from Grange Lili and Market Day. A 55,000 guineas purchase, the Richard Hannon-trained Party has to be seriously considered from such a stable, although the betting will, of course, tell us more. Grange Lili showed plenty of promise when making late headway over course and distance on her debut and holds plenty of respect today. Market Day did not prove the most tractable at Nottingham last time but showed promise in the contest and, if having learned well from that experience, is entitled to some thought in this race. Kat Act Two cost 60,000 guineas and is surely better than her debut run, but she needs to prove that now. Finally, Spanish Air made progress from run one to two and might have more to come but, overall, we are happy to side with Party.
