In depth

Verdict

Lupo D'Oro has solid claims back at this level having been placed in nurseries on his last three starts while Meloneras also made the frame in a handicap a fortnight ago, though she was beaten over three lengths. Kieren Fallon gets the leg up on Fantastic Smartie which suggests she could go close having improved at Wolverhampton last time, while Planet I T finished runner-up here recently and makes more appeal than The Name Is Don, whose recent third came in a seller at Folkestone. However ATHENIAN gets the vote as she cost 26,000gns and, as a half-sister to a couple of winners, will not have to be anything special to land this on her debut.
