        Verdict

        LUCIFERS SHADOW looked to score with plenty in hand at Wolverhampton last week and it would be no surprise if Sylvester Kirk's charge defies a penalty in this company. He makes more appeal than the frustrating Songbird Blues, who was placed yet again at this track last time but has yet to win a race. A handful of lightly-raced sorts make their handicap debuts and the likes of Norse Song, Watanee, Adverse and Verge are all worth a second look in the betting with improvement likely.
