Verdict

Plenty with a chance in an open contest. Merchant Of Venice included a couple of course and distance wins in an earlier hat-trick and returns to the all-weather. However, he was behind Divine Messenger when the latter went close here last time having won at Lingfield before that while Astonished will be more at home in this grade after struggling in Listed company. Bacacarat was beaten less than a length in a blanket finish at Chelmsford and can also figure but it could pay to stick with NAHHAM. He was giving away a stack of weight to younger horses when winning both starts in novice company and Richard Hannon’s colt is fancied to remain unbeaten now handicapping for the first time.
