      In depth

Several of these have claims. Tuolumne Meadows ran well over track and trip last time and just has the edge over Ffos Las runner-up Sir Valentine on these terms. But EYESHINE (NAP) found only the progressive Dubka, who has won twice again since, too good at Chepstow in June and John Gosden’s filly gets the vote on that form with first-time headgear applied. Attest could also go well stepping up from 1m2f while the newcomer Snobbery is related to winners and worth a second glance.

Certain Time 28-1 (10-0) Close up, chased winner halfway, ridden 4f out, weakened over 1f out, 8th of 9, 26 1/4l behind Dance The Dream (8-12) at Chepstow 1m 4f mdn stks (5) gf in Aug.

Mere Anarchy (IRE) 4-1 (11-5) Held up, in 4th, went 2nd from 5th, led after 4 out, headed 2 out, weakened flat, 3rd of 5, 13 1/2l behind Trafalgar Rock (11-5) at Worcester 2m 4f (4) gd in Jul.

Attest 10-3 (9-4) Held up in touch, headway over 2f out, soon hung left, every chance over 1f out, faded final furlong, 5th of 9, 6 3/4l behind Desert Way (8-13) at Salisbury 1m 2f mdn stks (5) gf in Jul.

Sir Valentine (GER) 5-1 (9-2) Tracked leaders, went 2nd over 2f out, edged left inside final furlong, no impression on winner, stayed on, 2nd of 11, 1 3/4l behind To Be Wild (9-2) at Ffos Las 1m 4f mdn stks (5) gs in Jul.

Snobbery (IRE) Duke Of Marmalade gelding out of Boast.

Eyeshine 13-8fav (8-10) Soon led, ridden and headed inside final furlong, one pace, 2nd of 10, 2l behind Dubka (8-10) at Chepstow 1m 4f mdn fll stks (5) gf in Jun.

Pray For Paris 50-1 (8-10) Led after about 1f, clear over 4f out, headed over 2f out, soon weakened, last of 13, dist behind Marmelo (9-1) at Doncaster 1m 4f mdn stks (5) sft in Jul.

Tuolumne Meadows 10-1 (9-0) Tracked leading pair, went 2nd over 1f out, ridden and stayed on same pace inside final furlong, 2nd of 6, 1 1/2l behind Moorside (9-0) at Kempton 1m 4f mdn fll stks (5) pol in Aug.
