In depth

Verdict

Not a race where many stand out for consistency, so only a small stakes play with Lysander's Quest is recommended, while Jadeeron and Sharaab head the list of others that cannot be confidently dismissed in this company. Sharaab is a versatile type that has been plying his trade under both codes recently. He stays the trip well and is a leading contender in this company. Jadeeron has a wealth of experience to draw from and is now in the right grade to make an impact. However, with just three wins from 80 career starts; he obviously does not find winning comes as a natural process. He remains one for the brave. Therefore, it can be worth chancing that Lysander's Quest can come good again. The eight-year-old enjoyed a good spell in this grade last season and, as he arrives here with a recent win to his name, Roger Ingram's charge gets the nod on this occasion.
