      Verdict

      Military Two Step won at Chelmsford in November while Smart Champion scored over track and trip back in September. FIRST EMPEROR won at Lingfield earlier in the week on only his second outing for John Ryan and given he raced off higher marks when trained in Ireland, he gets the vote to defy a penalty. Royaume Uni won his only outing on the all-weather so far and is rated much higher over hurdles than Grandee, who scored over timber when last in action.
