Verdict

Supporters of the odds-on CHAMP hardly had a moment’s worry at Southwell last month. He has a penalty to carry in a better race but it will take a useful sort to lower his colours. Irish Prophecy got off the mark in a driving finish over a shorter trip at Doncaster in November but the placed horses haven’t managed to frank the form. The market will probably tell us all we need to know about the newcomers with Dan Skelton’s pair, Frankie Rapper and Diese Des Bieffes, likely to prove the pick on breeding.
