Laphonic is selected here ahead of Shunkawakhan and Tipsy Lad. Laphonic comes into this on the back of a good course and distance run and, racing off the same mark today, looks to hold decent enough claims. Shunkawakhan was nearly three lengths behind him that day and is only a pound better off, although he did meet trouble in the race. Palais Polaire has shown enough to suggest that he should be at home in this type of company, while Solicitude has shown bits of form. Tipsy Lad won from today's mark here in July and cannot be ruled out if in that sort of mood, while Shava now races from one pound below his Wolverhampton winning mark of January. Silver Hotspur was noted staying on over six furlongs here last time and, based on that, could go well, while, finally, a return to form from earlier in the year would give Under Fire, Grand Palace and Royal Envoy claims.
