Verdict

Another top-notch renewal of the Feltham. Ollie Magern and Trabolgan look the two class acts on offer and our choice is the former. Having placed in the Paddy Power and the Hennessy, handicaps look out for Ollie Magern these days and against novice company, he should find the tasks a little more easier. Trabolgan will be no pushover. He went into many notebooks after a breathtaking display of jumping on his debut at Lingfield. He is still quite immature for his age but the Henderson team have introduced some very decent prospects in past renewals of this race and it would be no surprise to see Trabolgan go close. Your A Gassman has successfully bullied the novices up North. He is a likeable individual who should give a good account of himself. Backbeat is similarly stepped up in grade. He has done little wrong at lower levels and should appreciate the track. L'Ami and Distant Thunder renew rivalries from their Grade Two scrap at Lingfield over three miles. Control Man scored well at Cheltenham on his most recent start and should have no problems with three miles given the bullishness of the connections. Patches would need to step up a gear on anything he's shown while Quazar is the only runner this Christmas from the beleaguered Jonjo O'Neill stable. Very much a race for the video and on all evidence, an obvious opportunity for Ollie Magern to prevail.
