Verdict

Roll Again is much respected after making all and winning hard held at Ludlow eight days ago, despite the penalty. Doctor Dex won at Ascot on his chasing bow but was surprisingly beaten for pace by Generous Day when favourite here subsequently, though holds On The Slopes in that run. SIMPLY THE BETTS (NAP) had little more than an exercise gallop at Newcastle last time but an earlier victory at Chepstow is working out extremely well and he looks better than a handicapper so can defy top weight with Fidux coming unstuck last time at Haydock. Hold The Note might be the danger given he probably needed the experience at Huntingdon and his trainer won this last year with the useful Glen Forsa. Commanche Red looks the pick of the remainder.
