      Verdict

Wise Owl seemed to stay this trip well enough when scoring at Wolverhamton last time but a 5lb rise for that success looks harsh and preference is for Nawamees, who is preferred to The Violin Player. The last mentioned has claims on the pick of his form if staying but once again does not have the assistance of Richard Quinn, who rides him so well so he is hard to back with confidence. Quinn does ride the former David Elsworth-trained Spear Thistle, who has been kept fit over hurdles without any success and seems plenty high enough in the weights at present. Grooms Affection was well held behind the useful Arturius on his reappearance and needs to improve but may do so now that he tackles two miles for the first time. Llamadas is far from certain to stay this far, while Lunar Exit has along absence to overcome and preference is for the consistent Nawamees, who should give backers a decent run for their money.
