Verdict

There's nothing to choose between THE MAGIC OF RIO and Glamorous Spirit at the weights but we'll take the former to prevail. Smokey Ryder may also be able to give that pair something to think about. Willie Haggas' filly came up short on her one previous run in this grade and also has to overcome an absence but she does have plenty in her favour. Following that defeat in a claimer she went close in a handicap so she's worthy of her rating, handles this surface and should go close. Glamorous Spirit contested the Queen Mary Stakes for Jeremy Noseda in June and has her first start for a new trainer in more modest company. The yard does well with their acquisitions and she will command respect if the market speaks in her favour. Smokey Ryder may find this a little tougher than the race she won at Great Leighs but has to be feared whilst Barnezet can be given an each-way chance but The Magic Of Rio rates the one to beat.
