In depth

Verdict

Dual Southwell winner COLOUR GUARD just failed to catch the progressive Eshtibaak on his Polytrack debut at Lingfield last week. Mark Johnston's charge drops back to his winning trip here and should have too much for today's rivals. I Confess is on a career-high mark after scoring at Wolverhampton last month but Tartan Trip is slipping down the weights, though he's yet to show any improvement for it. Den's Gift is still capable of going close if things fall right, but Alhaban and Ancient Greece both step up in class today.
