Verdict

BRETT VALE comes here on the back of a win at Goodwood and has won at this course before over the trip whilst Phoenix Flight comes here after attempting a maiden hurdle at Aintree and Rose Row is a previous course and distance winner. The selection narrowly beat Epsom Salts in his last effort. He stayed on well that day and if recreating that sort of form in this race could be enough to snatch the win. Also likely to put up a challenge is Phoenix Flight who beat Ski Sunday when last seen on the flat at Newbury. He has either won or placed in half of his contests on the all-weather and he should give a good account of himself again. Rose Row has been poor so far this year but looks a possibility at the lower end of the handicap. Brett Vale gets the vote.
