        Verdict

        Caspar The Cub made a promising debut at Wolverhampton but this looks a tougher assignment. Crossed Baton won a novice event for John Gosden at Sandown in September and steps up in trip for his reappearance along with TIGRE DU TERRE. The latter was also last seen in September when runner-up in a Listed race at Doncaster and, now rated 102, Richard Hannon’s colt may well be good enough to make a winning return. Escalator improved to finish runner-up at Wolverhampton in October while Definition is related to a host of winners and makes most appeal of the newcomers.
