In depth

Verdict

Tony Martin has been in unstoppable form over the past couple of weeks and it's no surprise to find LANCING turning out under a penalty following his victory over a big field at Cork on Monday. That was the four-year-old's first success and he's up against experienced rivals but he won with much more in hand than the 6lb extra he has to carry and should complete the double. Vinniespride has yet to win in 18 career starts but ran very well behind Ontheground here last month though a 2lb rise won't help matters. Roisin Dubh won a bumper here a year ago but hasn't done as well as expected over hurdles so Wells China could be more of a danger as he completely missed the break at Wexford after winning comfortably on soft ground at Clonmel.
