In depth

Verdict

Lake Winnipesaukee was returning from a very long break when staying on into third at Cork so should be thereabouts but Memories Never Die hasn't made the expected progress. Save Face has shown potential in the UK and joined a new yard while Set My Love Free didn't do much wrong at Sligo but Champagnesocialist showed ability on his opening run at Galway in October 2020 and he again ran well at Musselburgh in January so probably doesn't need a run to put him straight. THECOMPANYSERGEANT was a 50/1 chance on his bumper debut at Galway last month but belied the odds with a fine staying-on effort which looks the pick of the form despite dropping back in trip.
