In depth

Verdict

KOLUMBUS was returning from a year's break when a close fourth at Thurles last month and looks to have the scope for better things when sent over obstacles. He can take this for Willie and Patrick Mullins though the better ground should help Taras Call into a place as she's found soft going against her in recent runs. Carlitos Bay produced his first sign of form at Fairyhouse last month while winning point-to-pointer Crosshue Boy ran well for a long way on his bumper debut at Fairyhouse on ground that wouldn't have suited. Supreme Steel has been racing on heavy going and it will be interesting to see how he performs on this quicker ground.
