In depth

Verdict

TUNE THE CELLO scored over the course and distance in July and put a moderate run at Galway behind her with a convincing victory in a tough Ballinrobe handicap so gets the vote. Western Run had a couple of runs in bumpers before a facile victory over timber at Downpatrick and Conor McNamara's claim is a bonus while defied a couple of mistakes to make a successful hurdling debut at Tramore after her Limerick bumper victory. Oscar Thyne battled away to score at Kilbeggan while Flemings Dream followed a very easy Kilbeggan maiden success over 3m1f with a close third on a return visit and can reverse form with runner-up Friary Rock with a stronger gallop likely. Isotope easily landed a Wexford maiden before well beaten in a Listowel handicap while Ardagh's Choice landed a 3m1f Kilbeggan handicap then followed up in a novices' race at Downpatrick.
