Verdict

Tommy Stack has won this twice in the past five years and tonight's representative, Pussycat Lips, should be more at home over this trip after a promising debut Lightnin Hopkins over 6f at Naas. Runner-up that day conceding 8lb was STRAPLESS and though her rival will have improved for her debut Jim Bolger's filly should have her measure on these terms and can gain a deserved first success. Cool Metallic was expected to be suited by a mile at Bellewstown after a couple of fair runs over 6f but didn't pick up in the very heavy ground. He can do better with slightly quicker conditions expected while Down Royal runner-up Eusepio is expected to come out best of David Marnane's trio.
