Verdict

After being placed behind smart novices in his first three starts over fences, HUBRISKO started favourite for a Galway handicap but finished injured. He wouldn't be running here if not fully recovered and can get off the mark over the bigger obstacles. Four-times hurdles winner The Friday Man has been a short-priced beaten favourite in his three starts over fences but had excuses at Kilbeggan last time when breaking a blood vessel. With slight doubts surrounding the main protagonists, The Short Go will probably attract support as he won a maiden hurdler by eleven lengths here in May before finishing down the field in much stronger company at Galway. The selection's stablemate Sky Sprinter hasn't shown much to date but can be expected to improve.
