        Verdict

        A particularly uninspiring contest with little bearing to quality but Nickit showed some promise on rain-softened ground at Exeter on his chasing bow earlier in the month and may find the improvement to score against modest rivals. Altregan Boy landed a poor event at Market Rasen earlier in the month and had his limitations exposed off this mark next time while River Slave was well below expectations last time and now has something to prove. Secret drinker should be sharper for a recent outing but Regal River looks handicapped up to his best.
