Verdict
Biscar Two is taken to follow up his recent course win at the expense of Barella and After Lent, with Osorno worth a mention. Biscar Two has won two of his last four outings, most recently over 21 furlongs here when in the care of Bernard Llewellyn. Claimed afterwards by Tony Jones, the five-year-old lines up with more chance than most despite this drop back in trip, and with ground conditions in his favour, he is taken to quickly get off the mark for new connections. Barella caught the attention of the stewards when showing marked improvement to land a Ludlow seller a fortnight ago, and if that was no flash in the pan, he remains well enough treated to take a hand again, while After Lent is dropped in grade after finishing fifth in better company, also at the Shropshire track recently. He was nothing special on the Flat for Paul Blockley though, and will have to improve again despite the plunge to this level. Of the rest, Osorno should be noted in the market as he has had very little racing, and may in time be a lot better than he showed on his timber debut at Uttoxeter in December. With proven form on this track, it is Biscar Two that makes most appeal.
