GOLDEN SQUARE could spring a bit of a surprise in the last with Cordier and Chaim also looking like they have chances. The selection may not have tasted victory since October 2007 but showed a slight return to form last time when running well to finish second of 16 in a similar event. The winner of that has gone on to run with credit in a much better race and with the pick down to a mark similar to that he last one off he could end the long wait for another victory. Cordier is yet to score over timber but won a few on the level and in his last outing ran on really well to finish second of 11 in similar company. It was an impressive performance from a lightly raced sort open to progression and suggested he will take a race like this off his current mark. Chaim is another open to improvement but was pulled up on his latest attempt. His only wins have come in bumpers but with competitive runs over timber, improvement implied, he could go well. Caulkleys Bank is now much nearer ihis last winning rating and should be competitive while Cove Mountain looks value at a bigger price. For the last though we're being brave and go for Golden Square.
