    Verdict

Supporters of Jack The Laird have been frustrated since Dean Ivory's gelding scored at Wolverhampton in May. He is still creeping up the weights and may find one too good again today in the shape of NOBLE ACT. Rae Guest's filly was only beaten half-a-length over course and distance in a maiden here last month and looks to be on an upward curve – she makes her handicap debut this afternoon. Very First Blade has been consistent lately but, like David's Beauty, looks thoroughly exposed.
