Bramantino is at the top of his game and should go close again, however Carrowdore has run consistently well all season and gets our vote, with Bluegrass Bay also expected to run well. Geoff Huffer's four-year-old is versatile when it comes to ground or trip, but this is possibly his best distance. His head second to Billy Bathwick at Yarmouth in July makes very good reading and he can go one better today. Bluegrass Boy beat some seasoned handicappers at Salisbury over this trip last time, his first victory in fifteen outings. Now he knows how to win there could be more to come. Bramantino has obvious claims having landed successive events at Beverley and York. He steps down in trip this afternoon but should still make his presence felt. So all in all a very tricky contest, but Carrowdore deserves to win a race of this nature and gets the nod.
