In depth
Verdict
Hard to be confident about too many here and Narval D'Avelot is just a tentative selection ahead of Roaringwater and Charlie's Double although market support for either My Skipper or Craic would be of keen interest. David Wintle's charge left some poor runs behind him to go close at Towcester in November and, if he can build on that, he should be able to defy a 6lb rise in the weights with this longer trip likely to suit. The trip is probably on the short side for Charlie's Double but should prove no problem for Roaringwater who is probably best forgiven a below par display at Towcester on Boxing Day. My Skipper and Craic both have their first taste of chasing and handicap company this afternoon and confidence behind their chances would look significant given their connections but the proven form of Narval D'Avelot earns him the vote.
