          Verdict

          COVERHAM just failed to catch A Sure Welcome at Kempton and is still winless though this doesn't look much tougher and he can get off the mark. Champagne Queen was beaten in a seller before clipping heels and falling at Redcar while Tigerfish looked in the grip of the handicapper on her hat-trick bid at Chelmsford. John Best has a couple of runners and the presence of Silvestre De Sousa on board Luxford suggests she may be up for this though the stable's Banta Bay looked as though there should be a race in him when a close fourth at Chelmsford in November. Pursuing Steed showed a bit more at Kempton and, with improvement likely, looks a threat on his handicap bow.
