In depth
Verdict
Arresting has been found a good opportunity here, with Lawrence Of Arabia, Weet A Head and Secret Jewel all likely show up well. The selection is well clear of these on official ratings and should really make short work of them. A course and distance winner in April, he has performed with credit at Newmarket in defeat on his two latest outings and the level of form he has shown has been consistently better than all his opponents, so we expect this drop to claiming company will see him win again. Lawrence Of Arabia also drops back in trip here though he has plenty to find with the selection on the book. He would probably prefer the ground to dry out more, but a 2lb drop will help and he can finish closer than of late here. Weet A Head has lees to find officially, but he won't mind any sort of ground and after two abortive attempts at a mile, he may be able to defy what his bloodlines suggest and perform better over this much longer trip coming from the shrewd connections he does. Of the others, Secret Jewel is dropping through the weights and is also blinkered for the first time here and Lady Herries may well be able to get the best out of the filly with those factors in mind, so don't rule her out, but Arresting stands out from the crowd here and he is our idea of the winner.
