        Verdict

        ASCENSION (NAP) has won both starts since being gelded and may not have finished winning yet. Roger Varian’s charge won nicely at Ayr last time and it was soft ground when he scored at Newmarket earlier. Doncaster winner Magical Wish has been beaten subsequently, including by Cold Stare at Goodwood, while Tomfre is hard to predict but not badly treated if back to his best. Dazzling Dan attempts 7f for the first time while Persuasion slips further down the weights but last year’s winner Muntadab continues to struggle and was due to run at Musselburgh yesterday.
